Face/Off - Review

It somehow  doesn't sound "right" to call yourself an action movie fanatic without knowing John Travolta and/or Nicolas Cage. For those that know these 2 actors' résumé, the 1997 American science fiction action movie Face/Off is arguably one that stamped their names in the industry as "the guys".

John Travolta had already made his name in the 1970s with Grease and Pulp Fiction afterwards but Face/off would show another side of him. As for Nicolas Cage, he also happened to star in Con Air which was released the same year, making it a good year for him. The movie was written by Mike Werb and Michael Colleary and directed by John Woo who was given major creative control.

The movie had a reported budget of $80 million because of it's violent action scenes including those that were shot in Los Angeles that required expensive automobiles. The film rightly earned favorable reviews and grossed $245 million worldwide and was also nominated for an Academy Award.

With a 7.3 IMDb rating and a rating of 92% from rotten tomatoes, nothing more needs to be said to confirm that the 2 hours 20 minutes of the movie will be worth it.
