True Lies - Review
Without any knowledge of the storyline, True Lies is one of those movies that will drive you into watching it due to the actors featured. In this case the main star happened to be Arnold Schwarzenegger who everyone wanted in their movie at the time. The action star had just come of the back of starring in movies such as Predator, Commando and the 2 Terminator movies. In 1994, he starred in True Lies alongside the now late Bill Paxton, Jamie Lee Curtis who played his wife in the movie.
The movie which was a remake of the 1991 French Comedy film La Totale was written, co-produced and directed by James Cameron. It also happened to be the first Lightstorm Entertainment project to be distributed under Cameron's multimillion-dollar production deal with 20th Century Fox, as well as the first major production for visual effects company Digital Domain, which was co-founded by Cameron.
The thriller/action movie which lasts 2 hours 24 minutes has a rating of 72% on rotten tomatoes and 7.2/10 on IMDb. It went on to gross $378 million worldwide at the box office and was also nominated at the Academy Awards and BAFTAs in the best visual effect category, and also for seven Saturday Awards.
In my look, True Lies is definitely one of the best movies from the 90s and I would recommend anyone to watch it.
